The Lockefield Garden Apartments (Indianapolis, Ind.) were built between 1935 and 1937 as a federal Public Works Administration project. The apartments were segregated, located on twenty-two acres bound by Indiana Avenue, and Blake, North, and Locke streets. The N.P. Severin Company (Chicago) were the principal contractors and Russ and Harrison the architects.
